The original Ronin, meaning "wave man" in Japanese, emerged from Janich's collaboration with custom knifemaker Mike Snody. As a gesture of gratitude, Snody invited Janich to design "the ultimate neck knife," leading to the creation of the Ronin. Janich's empirical approach, backed by the infamous "Pork Man" demonstration, revealed the unmatched cutting power of Wharncliffe-style blades. The Ronin, with its pure Wharncliffe design, became a game-changer.
 
Fast forward to 2003, Spyderco unveiled the Yojimbo, another testament to Janich's Wharncliffe campaign. Despite initial skepticism, the Yojimbo gained market traction, becoming a sought-after choice for personal-defense. Janich's journey continued, leading to the creation of the Yojimbo 2 in 2011.
 
Now, introducing the MicroJimbo, a distillation of the Yojimbo 2 into a smaller, legally compliant package. Retaining all the critical features, including the "cockpit," this ultra-compact folder boasts a CPM-S30V Wharncliffe blade, Compression Lock mechanism, and G10 handle scales.
