Back and better than ever, the 2023 LUDT Gen III is a refined evolution of one of Microtech’s most iconic automatic folders. Originally introduced in the mid-90s, the LUDT (Large Underwater Demolition Team) quickly became a top seller—and this latest version brings it fully into the modern era.
The Gen III LUDT features a 3.45" Bohler M390MK drop point blade with a crowned spine, aggressive thumb ramp jimping, a reinforced tip, and now a fuller (blood groove) for added strength and style. This blade isn’t just made to cut—it’s engineered to perform, with a black finish that holds up to heavy use.
The handle is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with 3M traction tape inlays for a secure grip in wet or dry conditions. Lightweight and tough, it’s built to ride in the pocket without adding bulk. Microtech has upgraded the construction with Torx hardware, a dedicated lanyard hole, and a smoother button action.
With ultra-fast deployment powered by 24 silica carbide bearings, the Gen III LUDT is a serious tool—whether you’re carrying it for EDC, tactical applications, or simply adding to your collection. Designed by Tony Marfione and made in the USA, this is one of Microtech’s most refined automatics to date.
