Designed by automotive engineer Paul Alexander, it features a broad, leaf-shaped blade with a gently curved PlainEdge™ cutting edge. Full-flat ground from VG-10 stainless steel, it offers an excellent balance of high-performance edge geometry, corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. Its Trademark Round Hole™ is also fully accessible with either hand for swift, one-handed opening.
 
The Ouroboros’ blade is paired with a gracefully curved handle constructed with nested stainless steel liners, a steel backspacer, and textured G-10 scales. The liners form the foundation of Spyderco’s patented Compression Lock™ mechanism, which not only provides impressive lock strength but also allows the blade to be safely and easily closed with only one hand. When the knife is opened, the blade and handle create a uniquely ergonomic shape that is amazingly comfortable and allows the wide blade to serve as a natural hand guard. Slim, lightweight, and extremely safe to use, the Ouroboros includes a reversible, deep-pocket wire clip that keeps it discreetly poised for ambidextrous tip-up access.
